News from the Burundi Concert

A big THANK YOU to Jane Spurr and Philippa Kirby, who planned the concert on Saturday 13th October to raise funds for the Wadhurst-Burundi Link. Philippa Kirby played some beautiful pieces on the flute accompanied by Jane Spurr on the piano. Other musicians and performers who contributed to the success of the evening included: Izzie Knowles, who played the cor anglais and oboe, Catherine Heathcote, who played on the flute and bassoon, Elspeth Lindsay who sang some acoustic songs, followed by her dad, Martin, with an amusing poem, Peter Ward, who played the premier of the music he had composed for the piano - 'In Memoriam'. During the music, two poems were read by Judy Alexander and Peter Thompson.. Peter Kirby also sang some delightful songs by Schumann and Poulenc. WHAT TALENT WE HAVE in WADHURST! Thank you for all those who attended the concert , which raised over £700.00p.
